Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind the beloved children’s series Sesame Street, has teamed up with VeVe, a mobile-first digital collectible platform, to release Cookie Monster NFTs. This marks the first time that digital collectibles based on Sesame Street characters will be available for purchase. Fans can buy these NFTs through the VeVe app starting from March 19, and this release is just the beginning of many to come from this exciting partnership.
Sesame Workshop has yet to announce what other Sesame Street characters will receive the NFT treatment in the future. However, both Sesame Workshop and VeVe are thrilled with the collaboration. In a statement, Jennifer Ahearn, VP for global strategic partnerships and themed entertainment at Sesame Workshop, remarked, “Collaborating with VeVe for [Sesame Street’s] first collection of digital collectibles is a great way to celebrate [the series’] enduring legacy and give our long-time fans a new way to showcase their love for Sesame Street and its characters.”
VeVe has established partnerships with numerous well-known entertainment brands, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics, and Warner Bros. Its platform enables users to purchase licensed collectibles via the VeVe app, which is available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store. To date, over 8 million collectibles have been sold through the app.
