Sandbox VR, a provider of virtual reality experiences, has joined forces with Netflix to create a new VR experience based on the South Korean thriller “Squid Game.” Set to launch in 2023, the “Sandbox VR x Squid Game” experience will transport players to different locations from the show where they will participate in pulse-pounding challenges inspired by the Netflix series.
I'm thrilled to announce Squid Game will be coming to @SandboxVR later this year! To be able to work on one of the world's top brands is incredibly humbling. Big thanks goes out to the Netflix Live Experiences team for their trust in us. pic.twitter.com/DFxxJ6DxR3

After each game session, players will receive personalized highlight video reels capturing their in-game reactions and recounting their story in the “Squid Game.” The hit show, which is Netflix’s most-watched title of all time in its initial release, has already been adapted as an immersive gaming experience. Sandbox VR operates in over 30 locations globally and uses motion-tracking technology and a haptic-feedback system to provide a fully immersive experience. The company’s investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, and individuals such as Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry.
