In anticipation of the annual “Star Wars Day” on May 4th, NFT startup Cryptoys announced the upcoming release of digital collectibles inspired by the iconic entertainment franchise. Scheduled to launch on May 24, the Star Wars NFT collection marks the latest addition to Cryptoys’ pop culture “digital toys” series, following its previous collaborations with toy brand Mattel on Masters of the Universe collections. The Star Wars NFTs will be priced at $39.99 each.

The Cryptoys Star Wars NFT collection will feature 15 limited edition “digital toys” depicting famous characters from the series, such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. These NFTs will be minted on the Flow blockchain, which hosts popular collectibles platforms like NBA Top Shot and NFL All Day.

Presented in five stylized, cartoonish designs, the NFTs will be available in “Common,” “Rare,” “Legendary,” “Grail,” and “Ultra Grail” rarity tiers within Star Wars-inspired digital “holocrons”—data storage devices from the renowned sci-fi film series. Each pack will be a “blind box,” meaning buyers will discover which character they have received upon opening it.

Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Will Weinraub, CEO and co-founder of Cryptoys’ parent company OnChain Studios, stated, “We’ve all been Star Wars fans since we were kids, which is why it’s an absolute dream come true to bring Star Wars collectible digital toys to the Cryptoys platform.”

NFTs are blockchain-based tokens representing ownership of digital or physical assets. Other pop culture NFT collections encompass Game of Thrones, Godzilla vs. Kong, David Bowie, and the Eternal Collection by Anthony Hopkins, among many others. Notably, this is not the first set of Star Wars NFT collectibles, as digital collectibles platform VeVe has previously released various sets, including 3D digital models, digital posters, and comic book covers from Disney and Marvel properties.
