This announcement comes ahead of the inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week, which is being pioneered by Decentraland and UNXD and is scheduled to take place in the near future.
Last year, UNXD raised $4 million in a funding round led by Animoca Brands, Polygon Studios, and Red DAO. The company is well-known for its collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana on the Collezione Genesi project, which generated approximately $6 million in final sales in September 2021. UNXD operates as a B2B2C platform, working with established brands while creating its own NFT collections and marketplace. It is also part of the same parent company as Vogue Arabia and WIRED Middle East, called Nervora.
Valentino is a renowned Italian institution in the world of fashion and luxury, known for its inclusiveness, uniqueness, and creativity. This is the brand’s first foray into Web3, but it previously hosted the Forever Valentine exhibition in Doha, where attendees could download an app showcasing over 200 garments on display.
With over 163 locations and about 1,000 points of sale, Valentino is known for being both people-centric and environmentally conscious. The brand initiated a “green transition” a few years ago to help reduce its environmental impact.
