Focus Bloc continues to lead the integration of vintage photography into the Web3 ecosystem, and this NFT drop signifies another advancement in that endeavor. The “Hollywood: from Golden Age to the First Blockbusters” collection promises to be an enthralling addition to the NFT landscape, offering a window into the captivating world of Hollywood’s past.
The rise of vintage photography as an NFT asset can largely be attributed to the verifiable authenticity provided by blockchain technology. NFTs offer a level of security and provenance previously unattainable by confirming ownership and legitimacy of each photo. Additionally, NFTs enable photographers to establish scarcity for their work, determine edition sizes, and facilitate the buying, selling, and trading of vintage photographs, thus creating a more dynamic market.
Focus Bloc’s Previous NFT Ventures
This is not Focus Bloc’s first foray into the NFT world. The team previously launched a successful NFT collection in partnership with French-language weekly news magazine, Paris Match. The collection, named “Focus Bloc – The Iconic Model of the Past,” displayed 120 vintage photos from celebrated French photographer Jean-Claude Deutsch, featuring 23 celebrities, such as David Bowie, Brigitte Bardot, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Michael Jackson.
Captured between the 1960s and 1990s, these photos portray these celebrities at the height of their careers. The collection debuted in January, boasting a lifetime volume of 31 ETH, with the current OpenSea floor at 0.7 ETH and a recent sale of 0.8 ETH in early April. It is worth noting that only 15 NFTs out of the 120-piece collection are presently listed for sale.
