Decentraland has launched the beta version of its software development kit (SDK) 7, after several months of anticipation. The SDK is publicly available for use by anyone, and it offers improved features that are designed to enhance Metaverse development. These features include a new user interface, improved performance, compatibility with the latest version of TypeScript, support for external libraries, and more.

The SDK has been built with three key principles in mind: usability, performance, and portability. Although it is not the final product, the current version aims to pave the way for the creation of a powerful editor that will enable creators to work with both visual interfaces and code simultaneously.

The release of SDK 7 coincides with the launch of the first version of Decentraland Editor, a tool that streamlines and simplifies the process of scene development. The editor aims to make scene development more accessible by enabling visual editing for those who are not proficient in coding.

Decentraland plans to build the next version of its editor on the foundations set by SDK 7. The kit will also make it easier to create various projects in the Decentraland ecosystem, thereby improving performance and paving the way for more robust multiplayer functionality.

The beta version of SDK 7 features a new UI system based on FlexBox, better performance thanks to an optimized flow of internal messages and the UI system, compatibility with the latest version of TypeScript (ES6), support for external JavaScript and TypeScript libraries, and many other benefits.
